General Rules
Please do not use Offensive language
Nintendude.org, has a filter put into place that will attempt to block most offensive words, if you find an offensive word, that has not been blocked, please make sure to contact an Admin, or a Moderator.
Please do not try to bypass the swear filter, or use any alternative spelling / Language.

Please do not cause abuse
Please respect all members on this forum,
We wish to keep a family friendly site, and hope that out members can help us with this

Please do not post offensive content
Posting of offensive content,
Including but not limited too:
sites of an adult / hate theme, including images and video's

This type of content isn't allowed anywhere on this forum*, this includes personal text, avatars, signatures and on private messages as well as public boards.

Please do not post copyrighted material
By this, we mean posting links to places where you can obtain copyrighted material, this includes Warez, ROMS and Movie files
or how to crack the copy protection, including how to copy DVD Movies, this site is for discussion of most things, but illegal
activities is not one of them.

Please only post in English
Please only post in English, this will help our staff manage the site and forum, we will allow for typo's as we are aware that not everyone can speak fluent English or they have trouble speaking / writing.

We will accept other languages but only with an accurate Translation, but overuse could lead to warnings or in severe cases ban's
We will NOT accept 1337 5p34k ('leet speak'), it isn't cool, it isn't funny! and it isn't 3n91!5h ('English'), basically if people can't understand it, then it isn't allowed!**

** There are a few exceptions, the common phrases like "LOL" and "OMG" etc... will be accepted, but only when used in moderation.

Forum Specific Rules
I am aware that the above rules apply to the forum, but here are the rules that mostly concentrate in posting on the actual boards
- Please note, that some boards have their own modified rules, please check out any of the stickies for more information

Posting new threads
Please try to make sure that when you create a new thread that it is in the right board, if you are not sure, post it in the board you think it should be in, one of our staff members will soon see it and will move it if needed.

If you see a thread you think is in the wrong place, please do not post "This is on the wrong board you should have posted this on X Board", as this is spamming, instead Private Message a Moderator or Administrator, and they will move it, if it needs moving.

Backseat Modding
Although we do appreciate people trying to help, we do discourage members from Back seat moderating, this is just like the above mentioned rule.
Posts like "Please stop spamming" should be avoided, if you see someone breaking the rules please do not try to take it into your own hands, report to a moderator.

Check the Stickies & Announcements
The sticky threads are stickies for a reason, please check these out before posting, some of them contain important information, while others are just very interesting threads (our most popular threads).
The Announcements are there to let you know of what has happened in Nintendude.org, so please check them out when they appear "new".

No Spamming
Spamming is one of the biggest problems on forums,
Spamming on the forum is not tolerated, there are many forms of spamming, most common are constant posting of gibberish, or constant posting / linking / advertising across boards. Depending on the severity any member found spamming will be subject to warnings or a ban.

Double Posting
Double posting is when you post once on the thread, then post immediatly after yourself, to ammend something you said. Please use the Modify button to edit your post.

The only time when you may double post, is if the thread has been inactive for a couple of weeks.

Markup
Markup is a great tool to help Emphasise your point, but please do not over use it, we don't mind you making some of your posts colourful, but posting all in one colour all the time isn't very easy to read, so please try not to over use the markup system.

Bumping
Bumping threads should only be used if the thread has been inactive for a while, different boards will have different rules on bumping, please check out any "Board Specific Rules" before posting / bumping.

Continuing Posting after the advertised update time of these rules, immediatly means you agree to adhere to these rules.
Please note that this is a working document, the Admins reserve the right to ammend these rules without any prior warnings.

If you have any questions, or comments regarding these rules please either Private message me, or E-Mail me at: admin-at-nintendude.org.

(please change the "-at-" to the "@" symbol, I removed it to avoid spam messages)
